Work experience

Pupils gain opportunities to gain work experience from year 7 onwards, this will be in the form of outside agencies coming in and delivering practical sessions about their profession and working lives. Completing their own research about possible working careers, visits and work experience placements at different workplaces.

In Year 11, Pupils also run their own ‘Tuck Shop’, providing a food service for the whole school to purchase food and drinks. Pupils develop their money skills and all profits go towards their end of year activities.

Careers

Pupils get the opportunity to visit and complete taster days at numerous colleges, this is tailored to where and what the pupils are interested in studying post Hill Park. They also complete a short bridge course at East Sussex college to gain valuable college experience and get a taste for potential college courses.

Pupils also gain 1:1 sessions from an independent careers advisor to support pupils in thinking about suitable career paths based on their strengths and interests.
